Real Facts
The campaign seeks to prevent and delay the uptake of illicit drug use.
The new Drug Aware Illicit Drug Prevention 'Real Facts' campaign commenced on 2 September 2018.
The campaign is one part of a comprehensive approach in Western Australia that aims to prevent and reduce harmful alcohol and other drug use. Research shows young people are the most at-risk of harm, when it comes to drug use, which can impact the rest of their lives.
We know that most young people search online, if they're looking for information about drugs. This can mean they don't find the information they want, or find false or misleading information. The campaign links young people directly with credible and accurate information on drugs, their effects and potential consequences.
Campaign objectives
- Promote Drug Aware as a source of credible and accurate information on illicit drugs.
- Increase awareness and knowledge of the potential health, social and legal consequences of illicit drug use.
- Increase awareness and knowledge of the potential health effects of cannabis and ecstasy.
Target group
Young people aged 15 to 25 years old at risk of drug use.
